Elite Synergy Bow Review

So I have been terrible about posting regularly right now. Ever since deer season opened, my life has turned into a whirlwind! When I'm not working, I'm hunting. When I'm not hunting, I'm home trying to catch up on some sleep and thinking about the next time I'll be hunting. Things are pretty busy right now.

Last year, you all may recall I took the initiative to talk about the 2014 bow lineups for each major manufacturer. I'm going to do the same in 2015, starting with the Elite Synergy.

A lot of people were shocked beyond belief when Elite released their Energy series in 2014. True, they were not built for speed, but they were what most people (including myself) considered the smoothest bows on the market. With up to a 92% let-off and a rock solid back wall, the Energy became the most shootable bow out there.

Now Elite has come out with their Synergy, once again a dual cam bow with a similar riser design to the Energy. I personally wondered how they would ever top the Energy. Well they did! When I first drew the Synergy back, it had that same "smooth as butter" draw that most Elite's have. It had a solid back wall, and settled in just like the Energy.

But one thing that I do every time I shoot a bow is draw back, anchor, get settled in, and then I ease it back down as if I didn't have a shot. Every archer knows there are some bows out there that will feel like they are trying to rip your arm out of its socket when you let down. When the Energy series came out, you had to commit to it in order to let the draw down. For the Synergy, words cannot describe what you go through when you let that bow down! You literally have to push it, it will not go otherwise!

Now I've listed some of the high points, so now let's get into the lows. When you build a bow for smoothness like this, you sacrifice something, and that's speed. The Elite Synergy only IBO's at 320 fps. It's a slow bow. If speed is not an issue to you, then wonderful, go get you one! But if it is (and it is for a lot of people), then this bow is probably not your first choice. That's the only issue with Elite, they're built for comfort, not for speed.

Overall, I think the Synergy is a good, comfortable bow. I strongly recommend you shoot one just to experience it if possible. I personally wish it could be faster, but that’s just me. Elite can make the smoothest bows in the world all day long, but technology is changing, and I hope they can make some changes soon that will help with these lower speeds.

Next time, I'll cover the new 2015 PSE bows, followed by the new 2015 Hoyts next week. I think 2015 is going to be a super slam year in the bow world! We got a lot of good stuff yet to come!
