Lone Wolf Assault II Tree Stand Review
If you are looking for a lightweight and just overall decent stand for run and gun hunts, the Lone Wolf Assault II tree stand is worth a look. The stand weighs only 11 pounds which is one of the lightest stands on the market. We all know the lighter the set-up you bring into the woods whenhunting, the better. This stand gives you that lightweight factor we all look for. For a lightweight stand, the platform is a good size with the dimensions at 26’’ x 19.5’’. I've spent many hours in this stand, and I’ve felt like I've had plenty of room to move around to keep warm as well as the ability to maneuver around to get the right angle to shoot a deer.
One of my favorite features is the built-in bow hanger, which I was unaware was included when I made the purchase. It was a pleasant surprise and now I no longer need to bring an additional bow hanger when I use this stand. There are a few tricks that can be done to make it quieter when you place your bow in and out of the stand. I recommend practicing before you go into the field. The seat that is included with the stand is a decently comfortable seat, however, after two seasons I went with a thicker seat that was more comfortable for me with my all day sits and my rut vacations.
Strapping it in the tree is pretty effortless as well. It only takes me approximately 10 minutes to be 100% situated in the stand. The Lone Wolf Assault II tree stand also comes with backpack carrying straps, which makes it so much easier to carry everything at once. I myself strap everything to my stand and carry it like a backpack! Lone Wolf has many accessories that you can buy to make the stand the most efficient stand for your hunts.
Rated on a 10 scale:
Price - 6/10:
If you are looking for an inexpensive stand this stand probably isn’t for you. This stand runs around $240 - $250 on Amazon, but if you are looking for something that is crazy light and dependable every hunting season, then this price is well worth it. You won't have to buy another stand ever again.
Ease of Setup - 8/10:
This stand takes minimal effort to set up in the tree, with easy straps and the ability to adapt to almost any tree.
Comfortability - 8/10:
Like I previously mentioned, you can adjust it to any tree which makes it easy for you to get the stand in the right position to make it comfortable. I have been in some stands that are hard to adjust, and you can easily be off balance to the point where you can't stand up and shoot. With this stand, you rarely have that problem.
Overall Personal Rating 8/10:
It’s hard to find a stand with the specs this one has, along with the added accessories you can purchase to make every hunt a safe and enjoyable one.
