This is a new bow in the Mathews lineup geared toward woman. It comes in several different color/camo options. The logo is pink and yellow on all the colors except the Sitka and Ridge reaper camo options. The Avail performs phenomenally well and is a pleasure to shoot. Setup with 60 lb. limbs, a 26” draw and a 350 grain arrow the bow will shoot just under 280 fps. There is no vibration on the shot, the bow holds well on target and the back wall is solid. It feels a little top heavy to me but nothing a back bar and a few weights couldn’t correct. Since Mathews marketed the Avail towards women I feel like it will be looked over by many short draw archers. Many of you are probably saying Mathews has the Halon and NoCam models that accommodate for shorter draw lengths. While that is true those bows were not designed around an archer with a shorter draw length. I’ve shot the NoCam, Halon 6 and Halon 32 6. All were great bows but none of them felt like they were made for a short draw archer. The cams are not as efficient as they should be and the draw cycle was not as smooth as it could have been. The Halon 6 I shot had 70 lb. limbs and I only hit 280 fps with it. The Avail matches that speed with 60 lbs. limbs. What I’m trying to say gentlemen, is don’t let the marketing and the color fool you. If you are a short draw archer in the market for a new bow I highly recommend you give the Avail a try. I don’t think there is a smoother bow on the market for archers with short draw lengths.
