Scott Backspin Release
So once again, working in an archery pro shop has its advantages. This past week, I got to demo the brand new Scott back-tension release, the Backspin. I've recently become a huge fan of back-tensions, and Tru Ball currently has some of my favorites. But I was very anxious to see what Scott came out with.
I demoed the release using the brand new bow from Hoyt, the Carbon Spyder Turbo set at 70 lbs. This is one of the greatest back-tensions I've ever shot. The position of your hand upon actual release is slightly farther back than a Tru Ball, but that's more personal preference than anything.
One of the key features of this release is its 360 degree rotational hole for your index finger. The design makes it possible for your index finger to stay perfectly still while the other two fingers roll back to shoot. This is what gives it the smoothness it's claimed to have.
This release is amazing, and I definitely find it worth the $200 price tag. The new Scott back-tension gets an A+ from me. Try one out if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed!
